It may not seem like a monumentous event to strip your car of bumper stickers. However, I would like to say it is.
My car has been plastered with Bumper Stickers for practically the past two years. As of 4:30 this afternoon I had 9 Bumper Stickers on the back and rear sides of my SUV. As of right now, at 5:02, I have one. And it is prominetley displayed in the center of my back windshield.
It was liberating dismantling those stickers. I was shedding off labels, stereotypes, and 'groups,' which I had belonged to for so long. I was stripping off an image that is automatically assumed when seeing the BS that I had on my car for so long.
The BS that I had on my car was the following, each one read:
-"EARTH"
-"Who Would Jesus Bomb?"
-"The Meaning Of Life Is To Live It"
-"Copeland: Eat. Sleep. Repeat."
-"Mountain Music Shoppe"
-The Apple Logo For Ipods
-"Philmont Scout Ranch"
-"USGA"
-The Little ICTHUS Jesus Fish Thing
-"Goodson Motor Sales"
So. That was my identity according to my car. I have stripped them off. I can start out anew. I now have my own identity without my car portraying one for me.
I should let you know though.
One replaced them all and it states:
"OBAMA 08"
